Amnesia is a serious medical condition involving significant memory loss. It is a disorienting and disheartening condition that causes confusion and forgetfulness. Amnesia can cause a person to forget who they are and where they are.

As we read through the Minor Prophets this summer, we will see that the main problem they are plagued with is the problem of identity amnesia. They forget who they are as God's people, and where they are in God's promised land. In short, they lose the plot to the story. They forget who they are and where they are in God's Story, and as a result, they turn to two common forms of sin: idolatry and injustice. They worship the wrong things, they wrong others, and in all of this, they betray God's covenant. Yet, God's faithfulness perseveres and calls them back to be the people He has called them to be.

In this series we will explore how God's redemptive story continues despite the corruption of our sin and the chaos of our world.

"Are your ears awake? Listen. Listen to the Wind Words, the Spirit blowing through the churches." Revelation 2:7 The Message Translation.

As we saw in our previous series through Revelation, Revelation was not written to predict how the world will one day end, but to strengthen Christians to endure in faithfulness to Christ’s mission in the midst of uncertain and threatening times. Having seen this throughout the book of Revelation, we now turn our attention to the messages Jesus gives the 7 churches the letter was originally written to. These words may not have been originally written to us, but we will see they were certainly written for us as we learn from the messages Jesus gives them. In this series we will seek to listen to and learn from Jesus’ words of commendation, confrontation, and exhortation as we seek to learn what the church looks like when the wind of the Spirit blows through.
