January Mission of the Month: The City Rescue Mission of Lansing. We will be passing the offering plate around a second time today for this very important mission. Thank you for your contributions.

You Are Invited to Take Part in Helping Bring God’s Dreams to Reality by Looking Over the Goals for Our Church Listed on the Back of the Outline Today:  Please then prayerfully consider which goal fits your passion, interests, and skills, and then sign up in the FLC after the service for a 90-day development team in one of these key areas.

CONNECT: This Wednesday we will be serving breakfast burritos, sausage, hash browns, salad, and dessert for dinner at 5:30 pm.  The Jr. High youth will meet at 6:15 pm. The CONNECT Kids will meet at 6:15 pm as well to enjoy and exciting night of karate with an instructor from Victory Martial Arts! (Please make sure that they wear comfortable clothing and encourage them invite their friends!)  Adult bible study with Pastor Tom will be in the choir room at 6:30 pm.  

Please Pray for Traveling Mercies as Mark and June B prepare to travel to the Mayo Clinic for Mark’s check-up.  Please also pray for good news from the doctors and for continued overall health.

January Mission of the Month: The City Rescue Mission of Lansing.

We Will be Packing Backpacks for Cumberland Following the Service Today:  Please come to the basement if you are able to help.  We will deliver the bags this Wednesday, January 15, at 5:30 pm.

 CONNECT: This Wednesday we will be serving sloppy joes, baked beans, chips, salad, and dessert for dinner at 5:30 pm.  The CONNECT kids will meet at 6:15 pm. to learn about the tenth commandment which warns us against envy and teaches us to be grateful for what we have. Jr. High Youth meet at 6:15 pm.

Adult Bible Study:  Following the CONNECT dinner on Wednesday nights, Pastor Tom will be teaching an Adult Bible Study class starting at 6:30 pm. in the choir room.  It will be sermon based; this week will focus on Colossians 2. 

CONNECT Kids Karate Class:  The CONNECT Kids will enjoy and exciting night of karate with an instructor from Victory Martial Arts next Wednesday, January 22! This is not just a lesson, they get to participate as well, so please make sure that they wear comfortable clothing and encourage them invite their friends!

We Would Like to Continue Serving Home-made Cookies on the First Sunday of Each Month During Fellowship After the Service:  There is a sign-up sheet is on the bulletin board in the Family Life Center if you would like to make cookies to share.  Those home-made cookies were so-o-o good during our coffee hour last Sunday!  Thank you, Barb K and Kerri M!

January Mission of the Month: The City Rescue Mission of Lansing provides shelter to 140 women, children, and men every night and serve about 100,000 meals every year. They are a Christian ministry which exists for the sole purpose of meeting the physical and spiritual needs of our community!

Mission of the Month:  The Salvation Army’s ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.  Today is the last day to contribute to this worthy mission.

Children and Worship Reminder:  We are still supporting “Z” with Children and Worship Funds.  (“Z”, is a child in Bangladesh with a very LONG name, so we call him “Z”.)  Please think about sending your children to C & W with a small donation each week, so that they can learn about helping children in other lands.

Backpacks for Cumberland: We will be filling backpacks today immediately following the service.  If you would like to help, please join us downstairs in the food pantry.

Please Join Us in the FLC After the Service Today:  There will be lots of nativity displays set up to look at and to learn about as well as Christmas cookies to enjoy.  Rick H will also have unique items for sale from the Village of Hope in Uganda and from Bethlehem.      

Enhanced Coffee Hour:  It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!  Enjoy an Enhanced Coffee Hour after the service next Sunday, December 22.  This is only possible with your help!   Please sign up on the bulletin board in the FLC to bring your favorite holiday baked goods to share.  Finger foods only please.

Wednesday Night CONNECT Dinners: The Burcham small group will be doing CONNECT dinners the first Wednesday of each month.  The young adults, along with Carol C and Bridget F will we doing the second Wednesdays monthly, and Janet V’s small group will do the third Wednesdays.  We are looking for volunteers to take on the fourth week of each month.  If this is something that you can do, please let Linda B know at your earliest convenience.

November Mission of the Month: “No Senior Without a Christmas”. Each year TRIAD fills 350 boxes with household supplies, non-perishable food, and holiday cheer. The boxes are then delivered to needy, older adults living in the tri-county region of Ingham, Clinton, and Eaton counties. Each box is delivered by a uniformed law enforcement officer or fire personnel. We will be passing the offering plates a second time this morning for this very important mission.

We Will be Packing Backpacks Today:  Please come downstairs immediately after the service.  Your help is greatly appreciated.

Sara E is Here Today to Share with Us an Update on What’s Been Happening in Honduras This Year. She will also have items on display in the FLC after the service:  Coffee for sale, grade school items, as well as some new handwoven baskets.  Please stop in to check them out!

October Mission of the Month: CROP Hunger Walk.

 We are Planning a Fall Clean-up Day for Saturday October 12th. We are looking for everyone to join us at the church starting at 9 am. Coffee and doughnuts will be provided. There will be tasks for every age and ability. All the tools and supplies will be provided by the church. 

 CROP Hunger Walk is 1 Week Away:  When you walk in the CROP Hunger Walk, you are raising money to help fight hunger, but you are also walking in solidarity with all of those people around the world who walk for food, water, and firewood each day.  We now have 31 plus Walkers participating from our congregation.  There is still a week left to sign up. To become a Walker or a Sponsor, please see Marcia J.  The CROP Hunger Walk is truly about us fighting hunger in many ways throughout the world! Come walk with us!

 Both Senior High and Junior High will be Participating in the CROP Walk on October 13th. We will provide lunch following Sunday School and then head over to the starting point. There will be no Senior High meeting this evening.

 The Sign-Up Sheet for Thanksgiving Baskets is on the Bulletin Board in the FLC.  If you would like to purchase a basket for a family in need this Thanksgiving, please sign your name on this sheet and put down how many baskets you would like to provide.  The cost of each basket is $40, and the deadline to sign up is today! Any Questions, please contact Joe E.

If You Would Like to Attend a Concert at South Church on Friday, November 1, at 7:00pm, Please let Sheryl E Know.  The deadline to purchase tickets is Oct. 27, the cost is $12.00.  The Whisnants and The Mark Trammell Quartet will be performing.

September Mission of the Month: Alaska Missionaries, Bruxvoort’s. Today is the last day to contribute to this worthy cause.

 The Meeting to Plan Pastor Rich’s Retirement Dinner Has Been Rescheduled to This Wednesday, October 2, from 5:30-6:30p.m., In the Choir Room. We are looking for ideas and suggestions regarding themes, invitations, decorations, food, entertainment, and anything else that you can think of to make this a true celebration of his 31 years here at ICRC. CONNECT dinner will also be during this time in the FLC, so please grab yourself something to eat first and then join us in the choir room. 

 The Adult Choir Will Resume Practices This Wed, Oct 2, at 8:00 p.m. in the Choir Room. Anyone high school age and older is welcome to join—no auditions necessary! Any questions please contact Karla T.

CROP Hunger Walk is 3 Weeks from Today: (Communities, Responding to, Overcome, Poverty) What are you doing on Sunday, October 13, 2019?  Would you like a way to visit with friends, make new friends, enjoy the outdoors, get exercise, AND help change the world?  Come walk with us in the CROP Hunger Walk to raise funds to fight hunger in our community and around the world.  We’ll start and end at Grace United Methodist Church, 1900 Boston Blvd., Lansing, MI.  Registration starts at 1p.m., and the walk starts at 2 p.m.  Please see Marcia J for more information and to get your walker envelope.

 CROP Hunger Walk is 4 Weeks from Today:  We will gather with others in our Community to help fight hunger around the world.  We need walkers and sponsors for the Greater Lansing CROP Hunger Walk on October 13, 2019.  Please see Marcia J in the Family Life Center after service for more details, and to sign up to be a walker, a sponsor, or both. You may also call Marcia.  Last year ICRC had 25 walkers, and raised $2,628!  We have 3 walkers signed up for this year so far, will you join the walk to fight hunger here and throughout the world?  Please see Marcia today!

 Painting Classes with Sandi S Resumes: This Tuesday, September 10, 2019. They will be on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month. Classes are $12.00 per session.

 God is Good All the Time! He has blessed us again this year so that we are able to help His children at Cumberland School.   Next Sunday, September 15, please come down stairs right after the service and help us pack bags.  Our first back pack delivery will be on Wednesday, September 18 and we will leave to go to the school at 5:30.
