Congregational Meeting May 19:  The annual Congregational meeting will be held today at noon, following a potluck dinner.  On the agenda will be a report from the Church Unique team, a proposed budget for the 2019-20 fiscal year, and the selection of one new deacon, and one new elder.  Nominated for deacon is Carrie B, and for elder is Rick H and Jack N. Please join us in the FLC immediately following the service.

This Wednesday, May 22, will be the last CONNECT until the fall.  Please invite your friends and family and come join us for an all church Barbeque/ Luau Party! We will have plenty of food, fun, and games for all!

 Happy Mother’s Day to all women who have done mothering in any way~ The Burcham Small Group.

 We will be filling Backpacks after service today.  Please join us after the service downstairs in the food pantry if you would like to help.  We will be delivering them on Wednesday, May 15 at 5:30 p.m.

CONNECT Wednesday: The kids will be running Cross Country with Dave South.  Make sure they dress comfortably and wear their running shoes!

 May Mission of the Month:  Kingdom Air Corps: Kingdom Air Corps is a nonprofit mission organization dedicated to taking the Gospel to people living in the most remote areas of the world. Pilots and aviation mechanics who have been called to full-time missionary service are trained with the skills they need to minister in these places, which are typically inaccessible by road.

 Thank You to all who made my 90th birthday so special!  I am so grateful for the cards, the notes, the neat messages, and the well wishes. I would also like to give a special thank you to Ann H, Dean J, and Marcia J for all of their assistance and care. ~ Marian P

 Thank You to all who brought in diapers, wipes, and other items to the Burcham Small Group room for our struggling young mother from Flint.  It is such a blessing to bless others, and we are extremely grateful for the opportunity to show her Christian love at its finest!

CONNECT Wednesday: The kids will be painting by numbers, learning that that when we follow the numbers, or the 10 Commandments, we create a beautiful picture.

We will be filling backpacks on Sunday, May 12:  If you would like to help with this, please meet downstairs in the food pantry immediately following the service.  We will be delivering to Cumberland on Wednesday, May 15.

The Burcham small group will be surrounding a struggling young mother from Flint with love and support today.  There will be a brunch in our room after service so that we can chat with her and shower her with diapers, wipes, and other baby necessities.  You are invited to come and join us in the Burcham Small Group Room to show her Christian love. 

Heart Healthy Meals for Gary A- If you would like to provide a meal for Gary, please see the sign-up sheet on the bulletin board in the FLC.

CONNECT Wednesday: The kids will be painting flower pots in preparation for planting the following week for Mother’s Day.

Children and Worship Helpers Needed- We are looking for adults, or older high school students to help out with the Children and Worship program on Sundays during service.  It would only be a few times a year and you would be trained for the job. If this is something that you are interested in doing, please write your name on the sign-up sheet in the FLC, or let Jennifer B know.  

Youth Group Rummage Sale Fundraiser:  Saturday May 4 from 8-2 p.m.  Items to donate can be dropped off in the FLC on Friday, May 3, any time after 2 p.m.

April Mission of the Month: Words of Hope is an international media ministry working to build the church throughout the world. They focus on areas that are hard to reach with the gospel, either because of poverty, geography, or social antagonism toward Christianity.

 We are pleased to administer the Sacrament of Baptism to Jessi F this morning, and welcome her as a new member.

 Join Us After Service Today:  We will be having an “Enhanced Coffee Hour” to enjoy baked goods and fellowship with each another. There will also be an Easter Egg Hunt for the kids! Thank you to all who brought in baked goods to share, and to the Burcham Small Group for coordinating and providing the candy for the Easter Egg Hunt.

CONNECT Wednesday: The kids will be painting flower pots in preparation for planting next week.  They will also be doing puzzles, and learning about the miracle of Jesus.

Sunday April 28, the Burcham small group will be surrounding a struggling young mother from Flint with love and support.  There will be a brunch in our room after service so that we can chat with her and shower her with diapers and wipes.  She needs newborn to size 5 diapers as she has a young daughter, and a new little one on the way.  Diapers and wipes are a necessity that Medicaid does not provide. Please come and join us in showing her Christian love.

Jr. High Soup Luncheon:  Please join us in the FLC immediately following the service today for the Jr. High Soup Luncheon.  This is a fundraiser for the summer mission trips to Alger, MI. There will be no Sunday School or classes today.

Summer mission trips this year are to Alger, Michigan. They will take place July 18-21 and August 8-11, both trips are open to the entire church.  Please let Joey South know if you are interested.

March Mission of the Month: The Gideons International is an Association of Christian business and professional men and their wives dedicated to telling people about Jesus through associating together for service, sharing personal testimony, and by providing Bibles and New Testaments. While we are often recognized for our work with hotels, we also place and distribute Scriptures in strategic locations so they are available to those who want them, as well as to those who may not know they need them.

February Mission of the Month: Lansing Christian Services: Christian Services is a ministry that meets the needs of the community that are not met by other organizations. They have one phone number for all churches to share, and they enable us to be the hands and the feet of Jesus by connecting personally with the people and by being the listening ears for those in need.  They help people who have ben told no and are in a crisis, as well as those who don’t know how to go about getting help.  They also feature the “Love Clothing Center” which provides school clothes for kids. 

CONNECT: This Wednesday! Dinner starts at 5:30 p.m., we will be serving tacos! Come share in the love and celebrate with the children during their Valentine Love Party!

 Potluck/ Movie Night: Saturday, February 23. Please bring a dish to pass and join us for a potluck and a movie. January Mission of the Month: Today is the last day to donate to the Lansing City Rescue Mission. Thank you to all who have done so already!

Flower Calendar:  We still have lots of dates available to bring flowers for Sunday Services! Please sign up in the Family Life Center.

Last Call for Super Bowl Subs!  The youth group will be making subs this Saturday February 2, and they will be available to pick up for Super Bowl Sunday, February 3.

Spring Training Recruits:  We are looking for young men from the congregation to volunteer for the Spring Training skits that will take place on February 24 and March 31. If you are willing, please see Karla T.

Consistory Meeting will be held this Tuesday, January 29 at 6:30 p.m.

January Mission of the Month: The City Rescue Mission is a Christian ministry that provides shelter to 140 women, children, and men every night and serves about 100,000 meals each year. The Rescue Mission of Lansing will be opening a new center called "The Outreach" on January 21.  This center is for men and women who struggle in a traditional shelter due to addiction or mental illness issues. Please consider what you can give to this mission today, and keep in mind whether you would like your donations to go to their general fund, to the new Outreach mission, or if you would like it split between the two. If you do have a preference, please see Julie L.

Painting with Sandi- Come join in some creative fun this Tuesday in the choir room!  Painting classes with Sandi S take place on the second and fourth Tuesdays each month!

CONNECT: This Wednesday! Dinner starts at 5:30 p.m.  The children will be enjoying an ice cream social afterwards! Come join in the fun! Adults please meet in the choir room at 6:30 p.m. for the Heidelberg Catechism class.

 All Church Game Night Saturday, January 26 at 6:30 p.m. Please come and join us for a night full of games, fun, and fellowship!

Prayers:  Please keep the Prince and the South Family in your prayers for the recent loss of their loved one Norman Prince. Norman was Gordon Prince's brother, and brother-in-law to David South.

Senior High Youth Group: will resume meeting on Sundays starting this week from 5:30p.m.-7:30p.m.

CONNECT: This Wednesday! Dinner starts at 5:30 p.m.  The children will be making God’s eyes. Adults come join us for the Heidelberg Catechism class starting at 6:30 p.m.

 Church Unique: Our Church Unique team met again yesterday to discuss our church’s Apostolic Espirit (What particular focus energizes our leadership?)   Please join us in the choir room after service today to discuss the outcome of this meeting!  

 Backpack Ministry: We will be packing bags today after the service.  Please come and help if you can.
