Our October Mission of the Month will be the City Rescue Mission. The FLC- M.O.M. bulletin board keeps updated newsletters.  If you have other personal contact with them, please share it for our “God’s Love in Action” stories.  Thank you!

Siloam Church:  The Nepali are worshipping at 12:00p.m.  Please pray for their worship and the Lord to be glorified through our partnership.

CONNECT is back!  Thank you to all who made these first weeks a great success. Our dinner is 5:30 p.m., with Jr. High Youth, Children's Ministry and Pastor’s ACTS Study to follow. Our children's ministry will host a special guest on Oct. 11th: Chaplain Randy Keyes will show how we can protect ourselves in physical and spiritual ways, with his “Bark the Bible” dog puppet joining him.  He is a highly ranked martial arts expert, as well as a Cornerstone University grad.  Bring your friends for a fun night.

CROP Walk/Rock is Oct. 8 in the afternoon after church, so many of us can join in.  https://www.crophungerwalk.org/    Registration is at 1p.m. and the walk begins at 2p.m.  Marcia, the Blancks and the Luceros are signed up so far.  Let's get a few more, make it a fellowship event and get some more assistance to the people in great need these days.  The CropHunger Walk is part of Church World Svcs, which has sent 100,000 kits and blankets to those impacted by Hurricane Harvey, distributed 15,000 kits in Cuba impacted by Hurricane Irma and delivered 30,000 Hygiene Kits to FL before their storms so they could be prepared to respond.  You can see and read more at www.cwsglobal.org/harvey They are asking for gifts to get more buckets, because they are almost out, with all the hurricane activity; and their hygiene kits are almost gone.  So your walking is not just a great idea, it is an important ministry to tens of thousands whom you may not reach otherwise!

Christian Services: Soon, October 10- 26, the Christian Services Help Line will take calls from low income families asking help with Thanksgiving food. This is a great time to help people and learn more about the functions of Christian Services’ Help Center. Since the only requests taken at this time are for Thanksgiving Food, the process is fairly simple to learn. Staff provide needed training and are always available to assist you.  Volunteers are needed Monday through Friday, 9-12:30 or afternoons 12:30-4.  Call Christian Services office at 394-5413 or email CSLansing@acd.net for more information.

Fall Church CleanUp:  We all need to work together for a major grooming of our grounds before the seasons change.  Please be watching for details for a mid/late October date, and make plans to join in the hard work to honor God with this property.

PLEASE SAVE: Old Frisbees and whiffle-type golf balls for Carol Carlson.
